CONCUSSION CAMP
Get your head right.
WHAT TO EXPECT
If you’re recovering from a concussion, post-concussion syndrome, whiplash, or dealing with persistent brain fog, this treatment is designed to support your recovery and manage your specific symptoms.
We focus on both the head and the abdomen, because inflammation and nervous system stress in one affects the other. The session includes gentle abdominal massage to calm the gut and support digestion—an essential part of reducing overall inflammation. This is combined with lymphatic drainage for the face and neck, along with an intra-oral component to help release deeper tension and encourage fluid movement through the head and jaw.
By supporting gut health, improving lymphatic flow, and reducing chronic muscle tension, this treatment can help ease symptoms like headaches, brain fog, vertigo, fatigue, facial pressure, and emotional overwhelm. It’s also helpful for conditions like chronic sinus congestion, allergies, and Long Covid, where the immune and nervous systems need ongoing support. This is a gentle, supportive therapy to help with complex issues; a series of treatments is recommended for best results.

TESTIMONIAL
“I took a pretty bad head hit playing football five years ago, and I’ve been dealing with the fallout ever since -brain fog, migraines, vertigo. Some days it’s been bad enough that I’ve had to call in sick or just lay low for a few days. Working with Sophie has seriously changed the game for me. Her treatments are super targeted to what I’ve got going on (and trust me, it’s a long list), and I’ve never felt more seen or supported in my recovery.
My migraines have dropped off big time and I feel noticeably clearer mentally after each session. The treatment is different from anything I’ve tried. It took a minute to get used to the intraoral work (yep, hands in the mouth), but now I tell every athlete I know with concussion or whiplash issues to go see her.
Sophie’s also helped me build a solid at-home routine to support long-term recovery. She really knows her stuff, and I’m grateful.
Thanks, Sophie.” - S., 29

It's best to wait until the acute stage has passed — typically after 1–2 weeks. Always check with your healthcare provider if you're unsure.
-
Nope. The touch is gentle and intentional. Most people find it very relaxing — many even fall asleep.
We’ll do a thorough assessment to start, which might involve some triggering of symptoms in the short term.
-
It involves gentle contact inside the mouth (on the roof of the mouth and the muscles in your cheeks) to release tension and improve drainage in the head and jaw. It’s quick, targeted, and always done with gloves. Clients usually say it feels odd for a second, then surprisingly relieving. As with any part of this treatment, you can stop or modify at any time.

It might sound unrelated, but your gut and your brain are in constant conversation through something called the gut-brain axis. They influence each other through nerves (like the vagus nerve), hormones, and immune signals — especially when it comes to inflammation.
After a concussion, the brain is inflamed as part of the healing process. But if the gut is also inflamed — which can happen from stress, medication, digestive conditions, or disrupted routines — it can feed into a loop of inflammation that slows recovery. The brain and gut keep pinging each other with stress signals, and that can make symptoms drag on.
Abdominal massage helps calm this system down. It supports digestion, encourages lymph flow, and stimulates the vagus nerve — which can help shift the body into a more relaxed, healing state.
By settling the gut, we help reduce overall inflammation and support clearer communication between the gut and brain — which can make a big difference in how smoothly recovery goes.

That depends on your symptoms and how long they've been present. Most clients notice shifts after one, but a short series (4–6) brings the best results.
I’ll also give you some homecare tips you can do yourself to support the work we do in clinic and make sure your results are long-lasting. My goal is that eventually you won’t need me anymore, or just come for occasional maintenance!

Yes, absolutely. This treatment supports brain health even if you haven’t had a concussion. It works by stimulating the glymphatic system — a key part of the brain’s waste-clearing process that’s most active during deep rest. Supporting this system can help reduce inflammation, improve mental clarity, and promote overall neurological health. It's beneficial for anyone looking to care for their brain, not just those recovering from injury.
-
Yes — as long as they are not in flare and there’s no active infection. it’s gentle and supportive for the nervous, muscular, and lymphatic systems. In particular, recent research is showing that lymphatic drainage is helpful for reducing the fatigue, respiratory issues, and cognitive symptoms associated with Long Covid.
If you're under medical care, check with your provider just to be safe.
