REHAB + RELAXATION MASSAGE
A classic for a reason.
WHAT TO EXPECT
This treatment will support you whether you're dealing with pain, recovering from injury, managing stress, or maintaining your overall well-being. We'll start by discussing what’s going on in your body and what your goals are for the session. Whether you're working through a recent issue, managing a long-term condition, or just feeling run down, we’ll tailor the treatment to meet your needs.
The hands-on work may include a mix of massage modalities, fascial release, joint mobilization, heat therapy, and relaxation techniques that help support the nervous system. We’ll work with muscles, fascia, and joints to reduce tension, improve movement, and encourage your body’s natural healing process. This approach works well for a wide range of concerns — from back or neck pain to stress, tension headaches, sports injuries, posture issues, or training recovery. It’s also a great option if you simply want to maintain balance and prevent issues before they start. If you'd like, we can also talk through some simple exercises, stretches, or self-care tips you can do at home to support your progress between sessions. It's your hour - we'll make it count.

TESTIMONIALS
“Sophie is a highly skilled massage therapist who puts her whole heart and knowledge base into each and every session. She is warm and welcoming, and her kindness and intellect immediately put her patients at ease.
She is both intuitive and informed and this powerful combo is consistently reflected in her approach. Sophie always takes the time to check in, to see how I felt after our previous session and to ask what I would like to focus on for our current appointment.
During my time with her I have had different injuries (MCL strain and rotator cuff strain) and she has incorporated healing of these areas into her work without sacrificing any of our other areas of focus.
Sophie is caring and committed to a holistic model of health, and it is always abundantly clear that her patients’ well-being means everything to her. We feel seen and heard.” - A., 52

That depends on what you prefer and what the issue is. Rehab massage may include deeper pressure or focused techniques, but it should never feel like your body is fighting back. Pressure is always adjusted based on your comfort. Even therapeutic work can be gentle and effective. I will check in with you throughout the treatment to make sure the pressure feels right.
-
Absolutely. Old injuries and long-held tension often leave behind tight fascia, scar tissue, and habitual holding patterns in the body. Massage helps by improving circulation, softening adhesions, and retraining the nervous system to let go of protective and overuse tension. Chronic issues usually need a few sessions to really shift, but many people feel lighter, looser, and more at ease even after one treatment.

Just come as you are. You’ll be draped (with a sheet) appropriately throughout the session - this means I’ll only every undrape the area I’m working on, and you’ll be undressed only to your comfort level. We’ll discuss any areas of focus or limitations before we start. If you’re booking rehab massage for a specific injury, make sure your intake form (emailed to you in advance) is complete and accurate before you arrive.

That depends on your goals. For general relaxation, a single session may be enough to feel a shift. For rehab work, a series of treatments spaced over several weeks is often most effective — especially if addressing long-term patterns or post-injury recovery. This is something we'll figure out together in session.
